Jean-Louis Chave, a dedicated and hardworking winemaker, not only oversees his family's domaine but also reclaimed abandoned hillside vineyards in St. Joseph, re-terracing and re-planting them. Starting with the 1995 vintage, he launched the Jean-Louis Chave Selection label, initially sourcing fruit from known growers within the St. Joseph appellation. Over time, as his own vineyards grew, he expanded the label to include various wines from different appellations, reflecting his belief in championing a wide range of wines from the region.
