Château Dutruch

Château Dutruch is located in the Appellation of Moulis-en-Medoc, a long narrow strip of land along the left bank of the estuaries of the Gironde and Garonne Rivers. The vineyards lie along the famous Grand Poujeaux brow, the much divided and desirable parcels of the Medoc. Particularly famous for its gravelly terroir and the good South-South-Western exposure, that produce wines that are very enjoyable both young & aged. The estate and its château were established in the middle of the 19th century and in 1967 Francois Cordonnier, a renowned proprietor & winemaker in the region, bought the property and carefully planted vineyards. Today his nephew Jean-Baptiste Cordonnier is at the helm. Following what his Uncle began, he has renovated, replaced & improved upon the over all quality of everything associated with the winery, which in his words “now match the quality of the terroir”. Dutruch is fast becoming the most highly regarded producer in Moulis-en-Medoc.
