Forge Cellars is a partnership between three like-minded and passionate friends: Louis Barruol- vigneron & Proprietor of esteemed Chateau Saint Cosme in Gigondas, Rick Rainey- budding wine grower and resident of Trumansburg, NY, and Justin Boyette- Winemaker/Partner of Hector Wine Company in Hector, NY. The project took three years to realize but its intent has always been clear- to make the best Riesling and Pinot Noir possible from the Finger Lakes of New York. Frm the very beginning, they asked themselves, “If we are diligent, disciplined, and stay committed to doing the best work possible, what levels of quality can we realize in this unique, cool climate region?” Together they came to the conclusions that Mother Nature gives the ingredients and therefore the possibilities. And they have fully embraced Mother Nature’s gracious bounty.
